FAQ

Q. How do I know what Intec product to use?
Our specially trained staff will advise you on what specific Intec version to use and how to apply it.

Q. How does Intec protect home furnishings?
Intec is an invisible polymer shield which covers each individual fibre. Intec treated carpets and fabrics are protected against water and oil-based stains and also soiling from day-to-day use.

Q. Will Intec wear off with time or after cleaning?
No, Intec is extremely hardwearing and in most domestic situations only needs to be applied once.

Q. How should I clean my Intec treated carpets and fabrics?
Regular vacuum cleaning is normally sufficient. If necessary regular carpet cleaning procedures apply but avoid aggressive detergents.

Q. Is Intec safe for use in family homes?
Intec has been specifically developed to adhere to the strictest environmentally demanding restrictions. It is water-based and does not contain any harmful solvents or CFCs and is safe to use in children’s rooms as well as all over the house.

Q. Does Intec change the colour or texture of my fabrics?
No, Intec is such a fine polymer that once applied it does not alter the look, feel or touch of your furnishings.

Q. Is there any odour from Intec-treated fabrics?
No, Intec is colourless and odourless.

Q. Why should I buy Intec rather than another available product on the market?
Independent tests have shown that Intec is more efficient and durable than other products. Intec does not contain any waxes or silicones.

Q. Why can’t I buy a warranty from Intec like other companies offer?
Intec has successfully been on the market for over 20 years. Some other protection companies sell additional insurance in the guise of a warranty which obviously does not mean their products are any more reliable. The small print of these insurance policies is often extremely limiting.

Q. How do I clean up spills and stains?
Intec prevents spilled liquids from being absorbed by the treated fabrics so any spilled liquid is easily removed by blotting it with absorbent paper (such as kitchen roll) or a clean cloth (clean towel). Do not rub, just blot by exerting a little pressure on the spilled area. If necessary, add a little water (this does not apply for natural floorings) and blot again. For dried stains: use a wet cloth or towel and simply blot the stain area. If necessary use a mild soapy solution, rinse with clean water, towel dry and repeat if necessary.

Q. Will all liquids spilt bead up on the surface of the textile?
Depending on the nature of the weave and its surface tension, some liquids (particularly hot liquids) might not bead on the surface, but will lay between the treated fibres, making them as easy to remove.
